Howerter’s Furniture began as a vision in 1946 when its Founder, Paul Howerter, was honorably discharged from the United States Army, having served in World War II. It was always his dream to open up a furniture store in his hometown of Emmaus, Pennsylvania. Finally, Paul’s dream came true in 1948 when Howerter’s Furniture opened on North Fifth Street in Emmaus. Since then, the store has grown rapidly with three major expansions. These expansions involved the addition of more showroom space, which allowed for a wider selection of home furnishings and accessories to be displayed.

Recently, with the passing of Paul, the store has been handed down to his two surviving sons, Daniel and Gary Howerter, who are now carrying on Paul’s vision of providing excellent service and satisfaction for all of your furniture needs.
